What is a complete wiring harness for an electric bus?

Vehicle Wiring Harness (Vehicle Wiring Harness) of an electric bus refers to a complete set of cable system used to connect various electrical and electronic devices of the entire vehicle. It is equivalent to the ‘nervous system’ of the electric bus, responsible for transmitting electrical energy and signals to ensure the normal operation of various systems.

 

The main components of the wiring harness of the whole vehicle

High-voltage wiring harness:

 

Mainly used for transmitting high-voltage power system (usually 300V and above), connecting batteries, motors, electronic control, charging interface, air conditioning and other high-power equipment.

Shielding materials are used to prevent electromagnetic interference, and have high temperature, pressure resistance, waterproof performance.

Low-voltage wiring harness:

 

Mainly used for 12V or 24V low voltage system, connecting lights, instruments, sensors, door control, air conditioning and other auxiliary equipment.

Different colours and thicknesses of wires are used to distinguish functions, such as power lines, signal lines, control lines, etc.

Communication harness:

 

Connects each ECU (Electronic Control Unit) in the vehicle, supports communication protocols such as CAN bus, LIN bus, Ethernet, etc. to achieve information transmission and data interaction.

Ensure that the power system, braking system, battery management system (BMS), car networking system, etc. work together.

The role of the vehicle wiring harness

Power supply: provide stable power for various electrical devices.

Signal transmission: connecting sensors, controllers, displays and other devices to achieve signal transmission.

Data communication: Ensure the data transmission of vehicle network and improve the level of intelligence.

Safety protection: adopting high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, fireproof and waterproof materials to improve the safety and reliability of the whole vehicle.

Lightweight: adopt aluminium wires and optimize wiring structure to reduce vehicle weight and improve range.
